Gawad Felix H. Limcaoco Jr. Awardee 2012: RAIZEL JANE A. MACARAEG

We’re proud to announce 2012’s Gawad Felix H. Limcaoco Awardee Ms. Raizel Macaraeg.  To recap, the Gawad Felix H. Limcaoco award is given to the most outstanding working student to graduate from the Pamantasan ng Cabuyao.

Raizel is 22 years old and is a graduate of BS Psychology, Cum Laude (Grade point average:1.54).  She is also a Research Awardee, which is given to the graduate with the best thesis.

Raizel has 7 siblings, is the second from the eldest, and is the breadwinner of the family. She works full time as a call center agent in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, ever since she was 18 years old.

Raizel stopped her studies when her father’s business went bankrupt.  She was then  a 3rd year nursing student from another school but due to financial difficulties, she started looking for work to support her family and continue her studies.

In order to graduate, she leaves for work at 7:00 in the evening and works at the Call Center in Sta. Rosa from 9:00PM-6:00AM. She brings her school uniform at work so that she can directly go to Pamantasan ng Cabuyao after her work. For more than three years now, her daily dose of sleep is less than 4 hours as she attends classes starting 7:30AM.

She dreams to be HR Manager in a large corporation after getting her Master’s Degree in the same field, and plans to send all her siblings to college.

In her interview, it was apparent that Raizel was full of drive to succeed. She showed several awards and citations for Best Employee in her company: a testament to her intelligence, ability, and good working attitude.
