SWAP or Student Welfare Assistance Program is a Housing Assistance Program provided by LICA Farm and Learning Center in Lipa City as part of its educational commitment to extend help to the needy but deserving students of the Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa, which is located just in front of the LICA Farm.
Seven students from the far-flung areas of Batangas and nearby provinces are now living in the LICA Farm and Learning Center. They are all students taking up Education Courses and performing well in college.
By staying in LICA Farm, they solved the immediate problem of housing and transportation cost which takes up a large amount from their meager allowance per month. The inability of their parents to provide daily transportation allowance and boarding house becomes a painful reason to drop out of college before the SWAP program was implemented.
In return, SWAP students, who are all good-performing in school, civic-oriented and with good characters, are providing crucial help to the farm operations during their free time like helping in food processing, upkeep and maintenance of LICA Inn and Event Venues, and assistance to the projects of the F. Limcaoco Foundation, Inc. acting as OJT project officers. They usually help in the workshops handled for the HOPE scholars, record keeping, grading system, recruitment, and in the Reading Classes for Children conducted in the communities of Cabuyao.
